We Built the Bracelet Making Kit We Wished Existed
Most jewelry making kits are designed to look good in a product photo. We know because we’ve bought a lot of them.
We’re Beadlo — a small brand based in Austin, TX, started by a former elementary art teacher who spent seven years watching kids do handwork in a real classroom. What we saw over and over: a bracelet making kit for kids that promises “everything included” but ships with 0.5mm cord that snaps on the first pull, letter beads where E, A, and I are rationed like they’re rare, and instruction cards that assume you already know what you’re doing. The result isn’t creativity. It’s a table of frustrated kids and a parent wondering why they bothered.
So we made a different decision. Before Beadlo launched, we tested four separate batches of elastic cord — pulling each to twice its length, holding it, releasing it, repeating — until we found one that consistently held. We calculated our letter bead ratios using the 50 most common American girls’ names to make sure Emma, Ellie, and Evelyn could all finish a bracelet without running out. We included every tool: scissors, tweezers, and a needle threader — because “all-in-one” should mean exactly that.
Whether you’re looking for a foolproof bracelet making kit gift or a way to unwind offline, our kits are built differently. They are ASTM F963 and EN71 certified (certification documents are available on request), and our 0.8mm elastic cord is rated for 5,000+ stretch cycles.
If you open a Beadlo kit and something is missing, we fix it. That’s the whole deal.
Complete Means Complete
Every bracelet making kit ships with scissors, tweezers, a needle threader, elastic cord, and enough beads to finish a real project. We count the vowels. We include a spare length of cord. If you open the box and something is wrong, contact us and we’ll make it right.
Tested Before It Ships
Our elastic cord is 0.8mm — double the thickness of most kits on the market — and tested to 5,000+ stretch cycles before it goes into a box. All beads meet ASTM F963 (US toy safety) and EN71 (EU standard), including heavy metal testing for lead and cadmium.
You Can Start in 10 Minutes
Every kit includes a step-by-step instruction card with illustrations. If you’re wondering how to make bracelets with beads for the first time, our guide walks you through the knot that won’t come undone. Zero experience required is the default.

I didn’t plan to start a craft company. I planned to teach art.
For seven years I ran hands-on craft classes in an Austin elementary school. I loved the work — I kept every semester’s lesson plan in a green folder on my shelf, and I still have it. What I didn’t love was the moment a kid would open a “Complete Kit” from Amazon and discover it wasn’t complete. Not even close.
The one that stuck with me: a girl named Emma wanted to bead her name. There was exactly one letter E in the set. She sat quietly while her classmates worked, tears running down her face, and said, “But my name has two E’s.” I couldn’t argue with that. She was right.
That afternoon I went home and started counting vowels. I spent the next eight months testing suppliers — pulling cord until it broke, evaluating the texture of a clay bead bracelet kit, giving samples to colleagues, and asking hard questions about what “complete” actually means. I retired that green folder and started Beadlo.
We’re not perfect, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. But I know what a good kit feels like from the inside of a classroom, and I build every Beadlo to that standard: everything in the box, everything tested, no kid left trying to spell a name with one vowel.
